Melbourne
Melbourne is Australia's creative and cultural capital and a close rival to Sydney in size. Fashion, design, food, coffee, live music and a packed calendar of major sporting and cultural events shape the city, while Cremorne and Richmond host a cluster of tech companies, and the CBD and Docklands hold corporate offices. I serve clients in Australia, and Melbourne is where the visual and storytelling side of my work fits best.
The local business landscape
Melbourne's economy leans heavily on brands that live by their image: fashion labels, restaurants and bars, design studios, beauty businesses, galleries and event companies. Many sell online as well as in store, through their own webshops, Instagram, eBay or Gumtree for second-hand and vintage goods. There is also a strong small business base in the suburbs and a busy startup scene. Melbourne's famously changeable weather affects every outdoor plan.
How my services apply
- Shoot production: lookbooks, campaigns and launch shoots, from small sets to crews of more than 50 people. Laneway and street shoots are popular, and filming in public spaces usually needs a permit from the City of Melbourne or the relevant council. Build weather contingencies into the schedule, because four seasons in one day is a real planning consideration.
- PR and press: Melbourne's lifestyle, food and arts media expect a visual story and a reason to publish now. Good images often decide whether a story runs.
- Marketplace selling: automated listings and first replies for brands and resellers on eBay, Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace, with stock synced to the webshop.
- AI email and phone automation for hospitality and events: booking questions answered in minutes, group enquiries flagged to the team by text, and calendars kept accurate.
Practical notes
- Victoria observes daylight saving, like NSW. Coordinating with suppliers or clients in Singapore and Malaysia means a two to three hour difference.
- If your automation sends promotional messages, the Spam Act requires consent and an unsubscribe. Keep enquiry replies transactional.
- Influencer and testimonial content must be clearly disclosed and genuine; the ACCC is active on misleading endorsements and reviews.
