Serving clients in Malaysia
I serve clients in Malaysia with AI automation, websites and SEO, automated marketplace selling, PR and press, and shoot production. Through Bachmeijer I also work on real estate photography and video in Johor Bahru, just across the Causeway from Singapore.
Why Malaysian businesses automate
Malaysia has a huge base of SMEs, and most of them run on WhatsApp, phone calls and the owner's personal attention. That works until the business grows. Then enquiries pile up, calls go unanswered and customers move on. Malaysian businesses also operate in several languages at once, and serve customers spread across a large country, from the Klang Valley to Penang, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak. Automation that answers quickly, in the customer's language, and hands over to a person at the right moment is a real competitive edge here.
How my services apply
- AI phone agents that follow callers between English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. Read my guide to AI phone agents in Malaysia.
- AI email automation with replies in the tone and language your customers use, and WhatsApp alerts when something important arrives.
- Websites and SEO automation: sites built to rank by city and neighbourhood, with Bahasa Malaysia versions where customers search that way.
- Marketplace selling on Shopee, Lazada, Carousell and TikTok Shop, with listing and stock automation. See what to automate and what not to.
- PR and press across a multilingual media landscape, choosing the right language and outlet type for each story.
- Shoot production for small and large productions, including crews of more than 50 people.
Practical notes for Malaysia
- Data protection: the Personal Data Protection Act 2010, amended in 2024 with duties such as breach notification and, for many organisations, a data protection officer. See my privacy comparison.
- Languages: Bahasa Malaysia, English, Chinese dialects and Tamil, often mixed in one conversation.
- Payments: DuitNow and online banking are common; cash on delivery is still expected for some marketplace orders.
- Logistics: shipping between Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia takes longer; quote delivery times by region.
Cities
- Kuala Lumpur: corporate headquarters, finance and the country's largest market.
- Petaling Jaya: dense SME and agency hub in Selangor.
- Penang: electronics manufacturing, heritage tourism and food.
- Johor Bahru: cross-border trade with Singapore and the RTS Link.
- Cyberjaya and Putrajaya: data centres, tech companies and government.
I have not written separate pages for Kota Kinabalu or Kuching yet; I only add a city page when there is something genuinely local to say. Clients in East Malaysia are welcome via the contact page.
