Woodlands

Woodlands is Singapore's northern gateway: the Woodlands Checkpoint and the Causeway to Johor Bahru, the Woodlands Regional Centre, and large residential estates. It is also where my photo and video business Bachmeijer is based, at 12 Woodlands Sq, Singapore 737715. I serve clients in Singapore, Malaysia and Australia, and Woodlands sits exactly where the Singapore and Malaysia markets meet.

The local business landscape

The north is shaped by the border. Businesses here serve a large residential population, cross-border commuters and travellers, and companies in the nearby industrial estates and the developing Woodlands North Coast. The Johor Bahru–Singapore RTS Link will connect Woodlands North with Bukit Chagar in Johor Bahru, and it is planned to start passenger service around the end of 2026. The Woodlands Regional Centre is being developed as a major business hub for the north.

How my services apply

  • Real estate photography and video through Bachmeijer: HDB flats, condos and landed homes in the north, and properties across the border in Johor Bahru. My listing checklist explains how to prepare.
  • Cross-border marketing: businesses here often want customers from Johor and the other way around. Websites, phone numbers and WhatsApp flows that work for both, as described in my cross-border guide.
  • AI phone and email automation for local service businesses, with callers greeted in the language they use.
  • Shoot production: productions that draw crew and talent from both sides of the Causeway, scheduled around checkpoint traffic.

Practical notes

  • Checkpoint queues are worst at weekday peak hours, on Friday evenings and around school and public holidays. Build that into any cross-border schedule.
  • Marketplace sellers serving both countries need separate Carousell, Shopee or Lazada shops for Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Personal data from customers in both countries falls under two different PDPAs. See my privacy comparison.

Across the border: Johor Bahru. Back to Singapore.
